13, 2005 ~ 7:30 pm :: A New Brain :: A NEW BRAIN takes
us on a surreal semiautobiographical tour of a songwriter's struggle to
find meaning in his life when confronted with the possibility of terminal
illness. As the songwriter fights to survive, he's supported by his lover
and his neurotic best friend, doted on by his very Jewish mother, surrounded
by disgruntled nurses, animated hospital staff and tormented by a sadistic
frog, who happens to be his boss. Ultimately, the songwriter finds salvation
and healing in art and music and the people around him, allowing us to
see that humor and joy coexist in our darkest moments. |
