View the world through the eyes of Nebraska-based theologian Reinhold Niebuhr and renowned composer, singer, director, and performance artist Rinde Eckert, whose Horizon presents a timely and thought-provoking examination of modern ideas, ideals, and ideologies. This play with music is deeply rooted in the soil and spirit of Nebraska, inspired by Eckert's visit to the state. Co-commissioned by the Lied Center in conjunction with the Mondavi Center at the University of California, Davis, the University of Maryland's Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, and Arts and Cultural Programming at Montclair State University. Its PlainSong Folk Festival week ! This Saturday, October 1st is the 4th annual PlainSong Folk Festival, once again located at the Olive Creek Orchard just south of Hickman, NE

This year’s stage lineup includes folk music, poetry, clogging, celtic music, dulcimer, diggeradoo, and bluegrass.

:: Guantanamo: Honor Bound for Freedom ::

A profound docudrama weaving together the personal stories, legal opinions, and political debates reagarding some of the 650 detainees from all over the world held at Guantanao Naval Base in Cuba after Set. 11, 2001. The play looks at the questions surrounding the detentions in Guantanamo Bay, and asks how much damage is being done to Western democratic values in the name of the "war on terror."
