:: Phunk Junkies ::
The alterna-funk outfit PHUNK JUNKEEZ is a six-piece (singer SOULMAN, guitarist DANNY P, bassist JUMBO JIM, drummer MONEY MIKE, and vocalist MILKY & DJ Roach), and sounds remarkably similar to such present day chart toppers 311, LINKIN PARK, Sugar Ray, and others. The band came together in the Arizona area, combining funk, punk rock, hip-hop, and hard rock. After touring in the states as well as Japan in the last year. Expect to hear more from the Junkeez in 2005. They are currently doing select tour dates, and are working on a new CD for release in Japan & US in May 2005.

:: Powerless IV ::
The 6th concert in the increasingly
popular Powerless series will take place at Duffy's
Tavern on January 12th 2005. Powerless VI will feature The Golden Age and Strawberry
Burns.
Newly reformed, The Golden
Age will be showing off the softer side of their new lineup,
and Strawberry Burns have just released their 2nd CD, "The Kitchen Pink"
and will be
featuring many of those songs and their other hits in our acoustic forum.
The Powerless series allows
local musicians a chance to reformat their music for an
acoustic setting and lets local music fans hear the songs performed in a unique
way.
The idea is a local spin on MTV's popular "Unplugged" shows. Tery
Daly of Star City
Scene has teamed up with Duffy's Tavern to present a quarterly Powerless show
at the
downtown club with a storied musical history. The first Powerless show was held
in
October 2003.
Star City Scene is an online
music community that covers and promotes the Lincoln music
scene and spotlights local talent through interviews, show and CD reviews, local
music
news, message boards, event calendar, venue info, and a streaming radio station,
which
allows visitors to sample a wide range of music written and performed by Lincolnites.
Powerless VI will take place at Duffy's Tavern, 1412 O Street, on Wednesday, January 12, 2005.

:: The Producers ::
The Producers
Orpheum Theater
“THE PRODUCERS is the funniest, most fearlessly irreverent thing ever seen on stage!” (USA Today). And now you can experience the biggest Tony Award winner in Broadway history when it comes to Omaha. Directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy for You, Contact, The Music Man, Oklahoma), The New York Times raves “THE PRODUCERS is a blissful spectacle that will leave you delirious!”
Based on Mr. Brooks’ Academy Award-winning 1968 film of the same name, THE PRODUCERS, the new MEL BROOKS musical is the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a mousy accountant. Together they hatch the ultimate scam: raise more money than needed for a sure-fire Broadway flop and pocket the difference. Their “sure-fire” theatrical fiasco? None other than the musical Springtime for Hitler.
