Orphan Annie Is Home At Last!
Plucky red head lands in the lap of luxury; shares her musical story with Playhouse patrons in December

“Oliver Warbucks is proud to announce the recent adoption of his new daughter Annie. After too many years of a hard knock life, Annie has found a great place to live and a great fa-ther to love,” says Grace Farrell, personal secretary to Mr. Warbucks.

Notorious for his once curmudgeonly ways, the change in Warbucks is remarkable. He gives Annie’s dog Sandy the run of the mansion, invites Annie’s scrappy but spunky friends from the orphanage to visit whenever they like, and even has been heard singing in the streets of New York!

Annie’s rags to riches tale has all the other orphans looking forward to a sunnier Tomorrow, too.

And what of the nasty Miss Hannigan, who tried for so long to trample on Annie’s optimistic spirit? It’s no Easy Street for her. After literally getting the boot from Annie, Hannigan also was given the boot by the state of New York. She has been relieved of her duties as director of the Orphanage, and is currently being indicted on various state and federal counts of fraud, blackmail, and misuse of funds.

Rooster Hannigan and Lily St. Regis also have been arrested for their alleged participation in the Orphan Fraud Scandal.

The Lincoln Community Playhouse takes you up close and personal with an in-depth look at Annie’s life – a Holiday Special Event running December 9-19, 2004 on the Mainstage. Annie, Daddy Warbucks, and all the orphans have lots to sing about!
