The day Zoe peeks her head into the classroom, he falls for her almost immediately. They marry as soon as they graduate, and Kyle pursues his marriage with unparalleled passion. Then one night, Zoe vanishes..and Kyle’s life is destroyed. The Nebraska Pork Producers' Capital City Ribfest is a 4 day event designed specifically as a summer street festival. Food, showcasing great barbeque, plus live music on the Windsor Canadian Sound Stage featuring some of the best local and regional talent, highlight the 4 day event.

Award-winning BBQ chefs and pit bosses from around the country gather to showcase their talents and serve up award-winning barbeque to southeastern Nebraskans. This festival is unique to Lincoln in that barbeque is the focal point of the event - offering the public a chance to sample a variety of barbeque recipes from across the nation and even Australia. BBQ fans can now taste Southern, Texas style, Austrailian, Jamaican and Southwestern BBQ, all without leaving Lincoln!

In additional to selling their delicious barbeque, vendors compete for cash prizes. The public can sample all the BBQ and are encouraged to vote for their favorite overall participant in the "People's Choice" competition.

:: Rock The Block ::

Rock the Block is a family festival of fun and a fundraiser for Lighthouse, an after-school facility for Lincoln’s at-risk youth. It features free children’s games and rides, live music, comedy with Juli Burney and a silent auction. Regular ballpark concessions will be available for purchase.

Rock the Block is Friday, August 13, from 6-10 p.m. at Haymarket Park (Lincoln Saltdogs’ stadium). I believe family passes are $30.

:: Poetry Slam Hosted by Matt Mason ::

What is a poetry Slam?
It's competition poetry; meaning humor, politics, enlightenment, sex, entertainment masquerading as literature, literature masquerading as entertainment. Poets will read, then judges will flash Olympic-style scoring to determine who goes on to the next round until there's just one poet left standing as the champion. It's a lot of fun!

All are invited to Listen, Read or Judge ...or eat or laugh or cry or yell!
Open Mic: readers have 4 minutes ~ Slammers: should have 3 poems.

REPULSION Directed by: Roman Polanski
Runtime: 1 hour, 45 minutes
Rating: Not Rated
Country: UK
Release Date: 1965
Studio: Compton/Tekli
Cast: Catherine Deneuve, Ian Hendry, John Fraser

REPULSION is a classy, truly horrific psychological drama in which Polish director Roman Polanski draws out a remarkable performance from young French actress Catherine Deneuve. REPULSION, starring the incomparable Catherine Deneuve, was director Roman Polanski's first movie filmed in English. It chronicles the descent into schizophrenia of a sexually confused, isolated young woman named Carol who works at a beauty parlor and shares an apartment with her sister Helen (Yvonne Furneaux). One day Helen and her boyfriend, Michael (Ian Hendry), go off on vacation together and Carol is left alone in the empty apartment, where the only sounds are the constant ticking of a clock, faucets dripping, and the invasive ringing of a telephone. Extremely paranoid, Carol refuses to let anyone in and never leaves the building herself, in effect breaking off all contact with the outside world. In this claustrophobic environment, she begins to lose her grip on reality, suffering from hallucinations of being attacked by a phantom rapist and hands reaching out from the walls to grab her. Highly acclaimed and extremely gripping, Polanski's disturbing film can be seen as a prelude to his later work in the field of psychological horror: Rosemary's Baby and, especially, The Tenant.
