:: propagandART ~ may 17, 2004 ::
here's the thing...this email
deal takes up a ton of time.
i love giving people excuses to get out of the house and all... but i'd like
to have more time to do that myself.
there's a bunch of events on the calendar on my website that would be worthwhile
entertainment...
but i don't want to have to come up with blurbs for all of them.
i think what i'm going to do is truncate my emails to events that i actually
know something about
or events that others send me blurbs about. so if you're honestly looking for
something to do...
hit the calendar on my website! http://www.landisarts.com/propagandART/
for example, gigs on saturday include a comedian and frickin' mannheim
steamroller!
oh yeah...and for those of
you who know larry mota, i'm delighted to inform you that his birthday is wednesday
and there will be a gathering in his honor that night at 9th street basement
for merriment and a little karaoke.
we'll gather there about 10ish-after his rehearsal for tempest. (it's on 9th
street next to barry's/under prime time)
hope all is well in your
corner of the universe.
and i hope to see you soon.

I Hate Hamlet ::
Andrew Rally seems to have it all - celebrity from a starring role in a hit
TV series, a beautiful girlfriend, a devoted agent, the perfect New York apartment,
and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park.
But there are some glitches in this paradise: the TV series has been cancelled,
his girlfriend is clinging to her virginity with unyielding conviction, and
he hates Hamlet. To top it all, the ghost of John Barrymore appears, dressed
in high Shakespearean garb. Well-fortified by champagne, Barrymore presses Andrew
to fulfill his destiny by playing Hamlet.
The laughs are non-stop in this fast-paced, hilarious romp.
(ok...this is a super
funny script. and i know these people in the cast. this is going to be great.
i'm especially looking forward to the sword battle between nate and will! -m@)

:: Dave Moore ::
LAFTA's Main Stage concert series presents Dave Moore on May 22, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. Dave Moore did most of his growing up in Iowa and is something of a legend for his songwriting and prowess on blues guitar, button accordion and harmonica. Dirty Linen says "The truth is that Dave Moore is one of America's finest songwriters. He can pull memories from a battered Gibson like wrinkled shirts from a road-worn suitcase. He blows harp like he was born with it between his lips. And he works the mic as if he was letting us in on the secrets of the world."
