i'm in a new band!!
i haven't quit the cats, i still love playing with them.
but we don't gig that often, and this new band has
a completely different vibe to it. it's mostly 80s & 90s
dance music. we have our first gig (get a pencil...)
on june 15th at haymarket heydays.
we hit the stage at 6, and will play 2.5 hours.
please come down and show your friendly faces.
it's always great to have a supportive crowd.
especially when it's your first gig and you're going
to be playing in front of (an estimated) 2000 people.

also, my dear friend wendy bantam (www.wendybantam.com)
is featured in an artshow tonight (thursday) and tomorrow (friday).
the show features 24 local artists and will be really wonderful.
it's put on by the wagon train project and will be held at
the 7th street loft (504 south 7th street) june 6-7 from 6-10pm.
go down and support your local artists.

:: world cup ::

how about team usa beating portugal (a dark horse favorite to win the
entire tournament). if you haven't been tuning into the fifa world cup,
you're missing the worlds biggest sporting event. entire nations will
shut down when their team is playing. countries economies are
affected by the tournament. it's got passion like no other event.

there are lessons lurking everywhere.
