i have a lot of good entertainment
in this one.
i can't remember a more stacked announcement.
every single one of these events are top notch.
there's live theater, brass-rock, blues, funk and folk.
print this one out!
:: the civil war at the playhouse ::
so, you haven't heard from
me in a while.
well, i've been in rehearsals for a super kick ass show at the playhouse.
it's called the civil war.
guess what it's about!?!? :-)
you guessed it...
it's an assemblage of songs and writings about the civil war
from different points of view: soldiers, civilians, enslaved.
the music is absolutely breath-taking,
and the cast is amazing.
seriously.
i haven't been this excited about a show in a long time.
it's just going to be awesome!
march 1st is opening night,
after the opening weekend, we run thursday-sunday
until march 24th. that's 4 weekends.
so that's plenty of time to make plans,
get a baby sitter,
find a date,
or get rid of whatever lame-ass excuse you can think of,
and come see some wonderful theater.
tix are $25 for non-members,
i think it's $13 or so for members (not sure),
and $9 for students.
call the box office now!
this one will sell out.

:: nine live cats at duggans ::
so, right after my civil
war show on march 2nd,
i'll be sprinting to duggan's pub to join the band
in progress and finish out the gig.
if you've been to a cats
gig,
i don't need to tell you how much fun they are.
if you've never been to one,
come see what you're missing!
also, i think the cats will
be playing without me
on sunday march 10th at the zoo bar.
i have a civil war show, so the amazingly talented
vince learned will be handling the vocals for the night.
so you learned-fans out there need to circle this date!
at this point, this is an unconfirmed show -
but i'll let you know when it's confirmed or dropped.

:: coco montoya at the music box ::
blues guitar stud, coco montoya
will
be at the music box thursday february 28th.
this guy is the real deal.
he's not one of those new-fangled technical blues players.
he's an old-school 'play it cause i feel it' guy,
who also happens to have exceptional technical ability.
one of my favorite blues albums of all times is
john mayall's 'sense of place' and guess who
the hired gun is on that album?
yeah.
if you dig blues, don't miss this guy.
